About this quiz
This is the shortest list on the site, and the one most people can actually complete. Eight thousand assists demands an elite playmaker who also played a very long time, and that combination is rare enough to fit on one screen.
Use it as a warm-up. If you can clear this in under two minutes you are ready for the 20,000-point club.
How to beat the clock
- Point guards almost exclusively — but not entirely.
- Every name here played at least 15 seasons.
- If you are stuck, think about who ran the great offensive teams of each decade.
How answers are matched
Type a full name, or just a surname when it is unambiguous — “Jordan” counts on a list with one Jordan, but a list with several Johnsons asks for the first name too. Capitalisation, punctuation and accents are all ignored, so “o neal” and “O’Neal’ are the same answer. The clock starts when you do, and a correct name clears the box so you can keep typing.
