Larry Bird played 13 seasons between 1979 and 1992, all of it with the Celtics. Over 897 regular-season games he averaged 24.3 points, 10 rebounds and 6.3 assists, finishing with 21,791 career points. He was 3× MVP, 2× Finals MVP, 12× All-Star, 10× All-NBA, Rookie of the Year, 3× champion and member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
He entered the league in the 1978 draft, taken 6th overall in the lottery. That makes him a product of the 1970s, and his career totals should be read against the pace and rules of that period.
