David Robinson's career
David Robinson played 14 seasons between 1989 and 2003, all of it with the Spurs. Over 987 regular-season games he averaged 21.1 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists, finishing with 20,790 career points. He was 1× MVP, 10× All-Star, 10× All-NBA, 1× Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, 2× champion and member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
He entered the league in the 1987 draft, taken first overall, with everything that expectation carries. That makes him a product of the 1980s, and his career totals should be read against the pace and rules of that period.
Across a long career of 14 seasons he was a primary scoring option at 21.1 points per game. On the glass he was among the players a team could build a defence around.

Why this was a fair answer
